Privacy Policy
Effective
Draft: this document is still under review and may change before TrailGlow launches.
TrailGlow records your blood trail on your phone. This policy says what leaves your phone, when, who receives it and how to delete it. TrailGlow is made by Everwood Ventures LLC.
1.The short version
TrailGlow works fully on your phone, without an account. The live camera feed never leaves your phone. Your trail, pins and photos leave it only if you sign in to back them up. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps.
2.On your phone
The camera. TrailGlow reads the live camera picture on your phone to make blood-colored spots glow. The picture is processed on your phone and is never uploaded.
Your tracks. Your trail (the GPS points recorded while a track runs), your pins, their notes and blood types, and your photos are stored on your phone. Signed out, none of them leave it.
Location. TrailGlow uses your location only while a track you started is running, including with your phone locked, and stops when you pause or end it.
3.Backup
If you sign in, your tracks are backed up to our servers so you can restore them on a new phone: each track's name, times, outcome and trail, your pins with their locations, notes and blood types, your photos, and your settings for units, sensitivity and haptics.
Backup stops when you sign out. Deleting a track or a pin in the app deletes its backed-up copy too.
4.Your account
Signing in is optional. You sign in with Apple or Google, and we receive your email address (if you use Apple's Hide My Email, the address Apple made for TrailGlow), your name if you share it, and an account id.
5.Subscriptions
TrailGlow is a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes your payment; we never see your payment details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchase records and an id, so the app knows your subscription is active, with or without an account.
6.Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an error, it may send a crash report to our crash-reporting provider, Sentry: what went wrong, your device model, operating system and app version. We remove account ids from these reports and don't attach your tracks, names or locations.
7.Maps
Map tiles come from the U.S. Geological Survey's National Map. When you view or download a map, your phone asks USGS for the tiles of that area, as a browser would, so USGS receives the area and your IP address. We receive nothing from it.
9.Retention and deletion
Deleting your account. In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. Your account and your backup, photos included, are deleted right away. Tracks on your phone stay on your phone; delete them in the app if you want them gone.
Without the app. Email support@trailglow.app from the address on your account. We'll delete your account and tell you when it's done, within 30 days.
What stays. Your subscription, until you cancel it in your store. Purchase records, which Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep for billing and tax. Crash reports and server logs, on our providers' schedules. Database backups, which roll off within 7 days.
10.Your choices
Sign out to stop backup. Delete a track or a pin to delete its backed-up copy. Delete your account to delete everything we hold for it. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction or a deletion, email support@trailglow.app.
11.Children
TrailGlow isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
12.Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we'll say so in the app before the change applies.
